The legislative session has come and gone, but I continue to reflect on the important things we accomplished. It’s reassuring that Utahns can come together and implement policies that have a meaningful impact.

 At the start of the session, my colleagues and I outlined three policy pillars for our state:

• Stewardship of our natural resources
• Keeping life affordable
• Investing in our future

The legislative session has come to an end. We passed more than 500 bills in just 45 days, paving the way for $29 billion in funding and meaningful legislation that will have a positive impact on Utah residents. I was humbled and grateful to be a part of the process, and I can’t thank you enough for your support along the way. Here’s a closer look at what we accomplished.

We’re three weeks in! I’m proud of how much meaningful legislation has already been passed and I look forward to working with my colleagues on much more.

With only 45 days to debate and pass hundreds of bills, every day is important and full of meaningful deliberation. I’m pleased to report that our second week was another productive one.

The General Session of the 65th Legislature is officially underway and off to a promising start! I was officially sworn in on Tuesday with many other new representatives who I am honored to work with. Serving in this capacity is a privilege I don’t take lightly, and I’m grateful for the confidence you’ve placed in me.

This has already been a highly productive week full of thoughtful debate that will greatly benefit Utah. I’m confident that we’re headed in the right direction, and I’m eager to continue working with my esteemed colleagues over the next six weeks. 

Over the past nine months, we have worked diligently to identify the most important policy challenges facing our state. By meeting with standing committee chairs and each of you, we have decided to direct our focus on the three following areas:

• Stewardship: Safeguard our natural resources
• Affordability: Keep Utah affordable
• Investment: Lay the foundation for Utah’s future
